The Memories We Keep: A Paper-Making Exploration

An exploration of how materials carry memory — and how we can reshape them into something new.

In this Hearth & Hands gathering, we’ll work with paper as a material of transformation. Through a simple, hands-on process, we’ll break down fibers, add water, and reform them into handmade sheets.

Each participant is invited to bring a small piece of cloth that holds meaning — something worn, kept, or remembered. This material will be incorporated into the paper itself, becoming part of its structure.

As we tear, soak, and form, the process asks very little of us — only attention. There is no right way to do this. No expectation to share more than you want to. Just a chance to work with your hands and create something that holds a story in a new form.
